Interview With Jig-Ai

Interview with: Brain (guitars, vocals)

What is the Metal scene like in the Czech Republic?
"It is good in general. We have a lot of bands here, well known festivals such as Obscene Extreme or Brutal Assault and many local shows across the whole country."

What is Grindcore?
"For me it is the most powerfull and energic music I have ever played. Kind of a lifestyle. Good friends all over the world..."

What was it like doing the split vinyl with ASS TO MOUTH?
"We have been friends for a long time. We played many shows together and also did Tour de Polgne with them in 2007 where we planned that split. The rest was easy, record that, release that."

What is the future of the band?
"To make a new CD, play some shows, have a lot of fun for us and our fans."

Arch Enemy – Video For ‘Cruelty Without Beauty’

Arch Enemy’s ‘Khaos Legions’ campaign gathers more steam as the band announce a new video for the song ‘Cruelty Without Beauty’ from the bands latest album ‘Khaos Legions’. Vocalist Angela Gossow of the Sweden based melodic death metal quintet comments, “I’m very pleased we got this video done for one of my favourite songs off the ‘Khaos Legions’ album. The video is quite raw and extreme as it reflects the lyrics very well I believe, dealing with a subject matter close to my heart – animal cruelty and vivisection.”
Angela adds, “We want to thank the good folks at Peta2, Hardforce, Metalitalia and The Metal Circus for supporting a serious subject. All of us have been well aware that a video like this doesn’t find everybody’s acceptance. But rock music was always more than guitar riffs – it’s also the voice of the voiceless.”
This autumn will be see the band trail blaze across European soil with 4 shows in Spain with special support from extreme metal legends Voivod. The year will close with a South America tour ending in Mexico City (where despite the Mayan Calendar the world doesn’t end).

Interview with Asaroth

Why did you start this band?
"Basically we start Asaroth for the simple fact of having a band. Almost all the members have already had a band, but we try to make this one the most serious, sincere and productive project so far."

What inspires your music?
"In first instance, all our music influences make that we could write some riffs and songs. But others things like feelings (hate and contempt mainly), experiences and even movies or books, can make it all happen."

When should we expect to see a full-length album?
"We have written two songs for a full-length album but because of other individual projects the band has been somewhat inactive so we could not advance in terms of composition. However, we expect at the end of the 2013 the album will be ready."

How do you feel about you Demo "Genocidio Christiano" and EP "Idolos de Ignorancia"?
"The experience with “Genocidio Cristiano” was quite pleasant. It was the first recording of the band (and for most, the first recording of our life) and did that all members get linked better since we did the artwork, design, mix, mastering and production. The good reception over Mexico and other countries like Peru, U.S.A. and France makes easier to us to play in several cities of our country.
With “Idolos de Ignorancia”, the things were different. After many changes of line-up finally the band had stability and we start to record this EP. The process was very slow almost one year between recordings, artwork, mixing, mastering, production and get some copies from the printing. The good of it was that the sound achieved was better than the demo. The presentation and the reception were good but, for the “hiatus” in which we are currently, the promotion has been a little forgotten."

How would you describe your music?
"Basically we play Death/Black Metal with some touches of Thrash Metal. In terms not musical, we try to sound like an expression of destruction, war, hate, rebellion and make with it that the Christianity and the others religions get crumble."

What is the message behind your music?
"The first idea of the band was express anti-Christianity. But as we mature as a band we try to send a message of liberation from religions trough any possible method to materialize as human beyond the submissive beings exposing in our lyrics the abominations, lies and inconsistencies behind religion, their preachers, followers and other beings corrupters of the world."

What are the goals for the band?
"Actually we’re ending the recording of three songs from a Split album with the band Chainsaw called “Devouring Christianity”. We hope the CD be released at the end of this year only need work on the mastering of our songs, artwork and production. After that we retake the composition, doing some shows at the beginning of the 2013 and in the middle of the same year be ready to enter to the studio to record the first full-length."

Interview: Zimon from A Thousand Reasons

Can you give a short history of the band?
Zimon: The band was born at the end of 2009, from my idea. I left my old band (Scarecrown) and after I realized I needed to do something new in music, something new that started from myself, to express my vision of music, and I started to write some new stuff. Blackie, listen my materials and joined in the project, as guitarist and vocals. After 3 month of production, the first EP "Strength and Fight" was released.

Do the name have any meaning?
Zimon: The meaning of the name is simple, a thousand reasons is one of my favorite song of Disfear from the album Misanthropic Generation. An other meaning is the fact that with "a thousand reasons" we can get to do many things, good or bad in our life."

On the band's facebook it say that you are working on the bands first full album how is that going?
Zimon: "After about one year from the release of the EP, at the end of 2011, we started to write some new stuff, but at the moment the pre-production is stopped. A Thousand Reasons is only a sideproject, I've another band called Overunit Machine, and we're
working so hard to release the new album for the next year."

What should we expect it to sound like?
Zimon: "The sound of the new songs is improved, more aggressive and powerfull, more experimental, will be a sort of concept album about the evolution of humanity and all the consequences behind it."

When should we expect the release?
Zimon:" "Sin.Thesis" is the title of the album, but I don't know when will be release, maybe some previews of new songs will be release next year."

What are you going to do to support this album?
Zimon: "As mentioned above, first of all, will be release a preview of 2 or 3 songs to see the response of these, and meanwhile we'll search a label.
Also I hope to complete the line-up to promote our music onstage"

Interview: Alex from I Am War

How is this band differ from other bands in punk/hardcore?
Our band is just about creating brutal honest music. Brandan and I have diverse musical backgrounds and like all sorts of music. We are just about kicking ass and taking names, we don't care if people like it. Some bands worry about that. We don't.

What was the game plan going to record the band's debut album "Outlive You All"?
We wanted to record 13-16 songs that were well under 3 minutes long. Really raw angry shitkickers that make you want to break stuff.

What's your favorite song off the album?
I like "Plug Me In". It's about listening to hardcore punk and metal as a kid and how pumped up and alive it made me feel. It's about still getting that feeling to this day as well.

When should expect some more music?
Well our record is out 8/28/2012 so we don't have plans to record for a while.

Who are your idols and why?
My mother and father for being honest good people and working hard to provide a good life for each other and their children. Not the most metal answer, but it's the truth. I don't worship people in bands.

Gwar Issues GWAR-B-Q 2012 Recap

"Beyond our wildest dreams, and they can get pretty kinky, we were almost completely 100 % satisfied with this years GWAR-B-Q," said lead singer Oderus Urungus, reached at his Antarctic bungalo. "Everything went well, except that hottie from Attack of the Show didn't show up...but I suppose that is understandable. We did feed her to a worm last year!"

From everything to the weather (which was an enjoyable 85 degrees), to the authorities (who seemed to be enjoying themselves), to the bands (who all put on amazing sets), all conditions were in perfect alignment and the much-anticipated event went off without a hitch...well, almost.

Slave Pit spokesman Dave Brockie had this to say about the event: "The 'Meat and Beat' went great, and Oderus stayed in the area an extra three hours to make sure everybody got to hang out with their Lord and Master. It was a great line-up of great bands, and we got to see both Sleazy P. AND The Sexecutioner! It was a huge improvement over last year (when we didn't even manage to have it outside) - we made big strides this year and I am sure next year we will get even bigger and better. Rest assured any hiccups we had have been noted and will be sorted out for next year's event...so see ya at GWAR-B-Q 2013!"

Black Country Communion WIth New Album Details

Afterglow, the new album from the hard-rock supergroup Black Country Communion, has been penned for release on October 30th. Check out the cover art and official trailer for the album below. The album is the band's third and continues in the same vein as the first and second albums.

Singer and bassist Glenn Hughes had the following to say about the new album: "It's kind of a continuation... There's gonna be some darker stuff on there, because the lyrics I'm writing are kind of dark. There may be some moments of drama in there, I like drama in the music. So the songs I have ready are definitely a continuation of [the first and the second albums]."
