I have been a huge fan of Kingdom of Sorrow ever since I pick up there album Behind the Blackest Tears. And when I saw them live that just made me into an even bigger fan! And I pretty much love whatever they do. Which why they get this weeks Video of the Week!

Interview: Alex from I Am War

How is this band differ from other bands in punk/hardcore?
Our band is just about creating brutal honest music. Brandan and I have diverse musical backgrounds and like all sorts of music. We are just about kicking ass and taking names, we don't care if people like it. Some bands worry about that. We don't.

What was the game plan going to record the band's debut album "Outlive You All"?
We wanted to record 13-16 songs that were well under 3 minutes long. Really raw angry shitkickers that make you want to break stuff.

What's your favorite song off the album?
I like "Plug Me In". It's about listening to hardcore punk and metal as a kid and how pumped up and alive it made me feel. It's about still getting that feeling to this day as well.

When should expect some more music?
Well our record is out 8/28/2012 so we don't have plans to record for a while.

Who are your idols and why?
My mother and father for being honest good people and working hard to provide a good life for each other and their children. Not the most metal answer, but it's the truth. I don't worship people in bands.

Thoughs: Lacking nothing. Any fan of Metalcore will love this album, this album is just great. You need to listen to this album. If you like breakdowns, trust me, they have plenty of that.

Thoughts: From the first track 'Don't Worship Assholes' to the last this album is fast, intense, and in your face. This is a great album to start off with. Hardcore/Punk fans will love this album. And if your not a fan of that genre still need to give this album a listen to.

Thoughts: Pretty solid album, any one who is into the Hardcore/Punk scene would like this album. At first, I am not going to lie, but I didn't like the album, but it is one of those albums that just grows on the lister and the lister starts to like it. This album is worth a listen.

What are some of the bands that influence your music? "We are mostly influenced by Ministry, Slayer and Nine Inch Nails. Somesynth bands also give some inspiration.

You have a song out on itunes called "Never Again" what shouldsome expect to hear from it? "“Never Again” was written for the solepurpose to fit in the category “radio friendly”, so that make it one of ourmost commercial songs. It have it all, catchy chorus, driven hard verse, softbreaks and more….but I would not call it representative for the rest of thealbum."

What is the Metal scene like in Sweden? "Most bands in Sweden are influencedby Gothenburg and the melodic death metal sound  that they produce, like In Flames, Soilworketc. Our style are not that common…yet. As chances to play live I think wecould do better, we have too few venues and too many bands."

What are your live shows like? "I decided when we started this bandthat our live shows should be more visible and amazing than the average bandwithin our size, we use our own lights and have two TV screens with videos thatare matched to the songs we play….nothing for a weak stomach…I always bleed onstage…that’s the dedication we will give you. I can assure you that you won’tforget us after a show."

Why start a Metalcore/Hardcore band? "It's actually hard to say what genre we're in. But we've evolved into a technical metalcore band the last few months, because that's where we take inspiration from."

If someone picks up your EP "Intentions" what should the expect to here? "If someone picks it up, the expectations should be far away from mainstream. Technical and weird rhymes that's setup smoothly."

Whats your favorite song off the EP? "The favorite song would be Lesson Learned! It's a good one."

Whats is the message behind your music? "There's not really a concept throughout the whole EP. There's concepts behind each songs, and you are the one to decide what the concept is."  

What has been the best moment in your career so far? "The best moment would be last Sunday when we signed our contract with the record label."

What has been the biggest hill you had to overcome? "The biggest hill we had to overcome would actually be about the money.. all bands have their huge money issues throughout their career."
